My Team

Here is an introduction to my team for this Component 3's Music Video project. This blogpost is written by me (Beatrice).

Here are the links to Rachelle (middle) and Jasmine's (right) blog posts.

Given some issues that occurred during the production of our previous project, it took a bit longer to finalize the team for this project. As a result, our teacher, Mr. Nick, decided to group us with people he felt would work best together. I'm pleased with my team, as we've been friends for a while now, which I believe will help us feel comfortable in sharing ideas openly and working collaboratively. I think our team has a strong artistic background, as Rachelle was previously an art student, I am still studying art, and Jasmine has a talent in drawing. Therefore, I think we will work great together if we communicate properly, as this shared background will allow us to integrate our individual styles and creative ideas into the project to make it visually appealing. However, since we have very different personalities and we all have strong creative perspectives, there is potential for disagreements when making decisions throughout this project. That said, I believe that with clear communication, we can work through the differences effectively. So far, the first term of this project has gone smoothly with them, and I'm hopeful that we can continue this project without any conflicts.

Post-Production Reflection : Due to our differing personalities, I sometimes found it difficult to communicate with my teammates. There were a lot of moments when I felt left out during the decision-making process, which made it challenging to fully engage with the project. Although communication was emphasized throughout, I don’t think we really addressed our struggles, which led to burnout and frustration especially when we were approaching the deadlines. Moreover, our contrasting work styles also created some tension, which made certain aspects of the process more stressful than I expected. However, I did learn to adapt and understand them better, and I’m glad we were able to push through and work more collaboratively towards the end. Despite these challenges, I am pleased of the final outcome, as we achieved most of the ideas we had envisioned. Yet, I do think better time management could have improved the overall quality of our project. All in all, I’m grateful to have had them as my teammates, because regardless of the difficulties, I genuinely appreciate their hard work and dedication. Everyone contributed in their own way, hence I really appreciate the efforts they put into making this project.
