Filming Schedule & Preparations

This blog post, written by me (Beatrice), details the filming schedule that my team and I made to manage and organize the production process.

Pre-production reflection : Since we haven't started the filming process and have mostly been focusing on completing other blogs, we haven't decided on a specific date to film the music video. However, we're aiming to begin filming early next year. Although the exact schedule isn't finalized, this allows us to give the team an early heads-up, increasing the likelihood that everyone will be available and punctual on filming days, which allows the filming process to go smoothly. I think by completing this schedule next semester, it will help to keep us organized as a team, and ensuring smooth communication. By planning together, we can outline each step clearly, keeping everyone informed and on the same page. This preparation will help us avoid disorganization and allow us to stay on track, which makes the filming process much more efficient.

Post-production reflection : Due to the lack of time management and communication, we didn't end up using the filming schedule at all. At the start of the second semester, I initially wanted to discuss with my teammates on when they would be available to film. Because, although I took the initiative in creating the filming schedule, I still wanted to make sure that everyone’s availability was considered so that we could plan efficiently and avoid rushing the filming process. However, my teammates were also uncertain about their schedules and kept delaying their responses until the last minute, so I had to make assumptions about when they would be free. After the filming process began, I realized that their free time often clashed with mine, as I had afterschool lessons on certain days of the week. This made it extremely difficult to find a time that worked for everyone. As a result, I found myself frustrated, especially when they decided to film on short notice without informing me in advance. This led to situations where I had to cancel prior plans unexpectedly. The lack of a structured filming schedule significantly delayed our filming process, which makes everything feel rushed and unprepared. Consequently, we only completed filming two days before the deadline. However, I believe that a properly implemented filming schedule would have been highly beneficial in ensuring a smoother filming process. This experience has taught me the importance of communication and planning with people in the future.
